Irgafos 168 is an organo-phosphite processing stabilizer with stable Hydrolytic structure, It’s a secondary Antioxidant participating in the reaction during the process with hydroperoxides which is formed by polymer’s auto-oxidation to avoid process induced degradation and improving the primary antioxidants performance.
It’s application combined with other BASF antioxidants includes polyolefins and olefin co-polymers such as polyethylene polypropylene, polybutene and ethylene vinyl acetate co-polymers as well as polycarbonates and polyamides. Variety of Irgafos® 168 can be used in polyesters, styrene homo- and co-polymers, adhesives and natural and synthetic tackifier resins, elastomers such as BR, SEBS, SBS, and other organic substrates. They can also be used in combination with light stabilizers of the Uvinul, Tinuvin, and Chimassorb range.
It’s recommended to use this product in applications such as Powder coatings, Solvent-based coatings and Hot-melt adhesives. It’s proven to us that rgafos® 168 will have the best result when it’s combined with other BASF antioxidants.
